Major Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water systems, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and applying penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were bracing for further attacks.
